Job Description

Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a kindergarten student as a Sign Language Interpreter in a welcoming educational environment near Bunker Hill, IN. This full-time assignment runs through June 2027, with the chance to directly impact a young learners success. Initially, youll provide 1:1 ASL services for one day per week while spending the remainder of your time as a valued paraprofessional supporting the school community. As the students schedule expands, so will your role delivering ASL support throughout the school day.
Qualifications:
Valid Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Certification for Indiana Minimum 3.5 EIPA score and passed written assessment (or a scheduled test date, with district willingness to approve those with the written in process) Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting is beneficial Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset Ability to work onsite and adapt within a dynamic K-12 environment
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct American Sign Language interpretation for a kindergarten student, ensuring consistent and accessible communication Accompany the student across classrooms and in group settings, fostering inclusion throughout the school day Fulfill paraprofessional duties as needed, supporting instructional activities and broader student engagement Communicate effectively with educators, staff, and families to provide updates on student progress Adjust services and support as the students attendance and schedule expand
