9600491-46310 Job Description Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a full-time, school-based assignment in the Demotte, IN area. This rewarding contract position covers the full academic year and centers on dedicated 1:1 interpreting for a student, ensuring accessibility and engagement throughout all classroom and school activities.

What youll do:

Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for a designated student within classroom and school settings. Facilitate clear communication between the student, staff, and peers using American Sign Language (ASL). Adapt interpretation for various subjects, routines, and environments to support optimal learning. Work collaboratively with educators, support staff, and families to foster the best educational experience. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards. Support student independence and participation in daily activities and school events.

Desired qualifications:

Current EIPA score of at least 3.5. Experience in educational settings preferred, especially as a school-based Sign Language Interpreter. Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL); strong interpersonal and listening skills. Committed to the needs and growth of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. Ability to work full-time for the entirety of the academic year. Adaptable, reliable, and friendly demeanor with a collaborative approach.
