This full-time, full-year contract role focuses on 1:1 interpretation, creating a supportive and inclusive space for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Working closely within a school community, youll facilitate communication, promote engagement, and foster learning.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 Proven experience providing 1:1 interpreting services, preferably in an educational setting Strong grasp of American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to adapt to varying communication needs and classroom settings Collaborative mindset and positive attitude Commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate, effective 1:1 interpretation between students and school staff Ensure full access to classroom instruction, school activities, and peer interactions Work as a communication bridge to support academic success and social inclusion Prepare for daily lessons and assignments as needed Collaborate with educators to understand lesson objectives and student needs Participate in IEP meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development Advocate for appropriate accommodations and inclusion strategies when necessary Youll be supported by a welcoming team and a collaborative school culture invested in student achievement.
