Monday and Thursday, Day Shift General Summary of Position Several times each month interprets English and Spanish for Spanish speaking women who have a gynecology visit and a mammogram. Assists patients with registration preparation for examination and escorts patients between departments. Provides directions and simple instructions in customer service related encounters. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Interprets for Spanish speaking patients in various hospital departments with simple instruction. Assists with paperwork forms and demographic information. Escorts patients between departments. Assists with and collects program consent form. Places forms in patient chart. Communicates with patients and staff for patient appointment tardiness and no show. Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimal Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required Experience Prior work experience not required Licenses and Certifications Qualified Bilingual Staff Level 1 (or other similar certification) required within 1 Year required and No special registration or licensure required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Speak and read fluently in English and Spanish required. Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred. This position has a hiring range of USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
