As a contract interpreter supporting a high school student, youll help foster an inclusive educational environment by providing dedicated interpreting services. Your skills will empower students to access their learning, participate in classroom activities, and connect with their peers and teachers. This position follows a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm, offering the predictability and work-life balance you desire. Youll focus solely on delivering professional interpreting services for your assigned studentno extra teaching or duties are expected.

Qualified candidates will have:

Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, specifically in school settings or with youth A strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) Skills in supporting students in academic environments A commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and fostering student independence Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles Preferred, but not required: Background working in high school classrooms or with adolescent learners Previous contract or school-based interpreting assignments

Facilitate clear, accurate communication between the student, staff, and peers using ASL Interpret classroom discussions, instructions, and school events Promote the students full participation in their high school experience Maintain professionalism and respect for student privacy at all times No certifications are needed for this assignmentwhat matters is your ASL proficiency, dedication, and readiness to make a positive impact.
