Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (state or national level preferred) Experience providing interpretation in an educational environment, especially at the high school level Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and students Respect for confidentiality and a welcoming, supportive attitude

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time interpretation between spoken English and ASL during classes, assemblies, and school activities Facilitate communication between the transferring student, peers, teachers, and other staff Assist the student in navigating classroom routines and academic content Adapt interpretation techniques to fit different classroom subjects and instructional styles Maintain professionalism and support a positive, accessible learning environment at all times As a contract interpreter, you'll be welcomed into a supportive and collaborative setting where your expertise is highly valued.
