Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity tailored for skilled Sign Language Interpreters passionate about supporting students in an educational setting near Fort Bragg, NC. This full-time role spans the 2026-2027 academic year, running from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027. Enjoy consistent hours—7.5 per day, totaling 37.5 hours weekly—and make a difference by facilitating communication and inclusion in a vibrant school community.
Key Qualifications:
Holds current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in North Carolina Extensive training and experience in educational interpreting settings Mastery of American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to engage with students, staff, and families Commitment to ethical interpreting standards and student confidentiality Full-time, onsite availability for the duration of the school year (remote work not available)
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide clear, accurate interpretation for students and staff in classroom and extracurricular activities Facilitate expressive and receptive communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and school personnel Collaborate with teachers and support teams to ensure seamless integration of interpreting services within the learning environment Maintain records and adhere to school and state regulations concerning confidentiality and student support Support the academic and social inclusion of all students throughout the school day Seize the chance to influence student success while enjoying a structured, full-time schedule during the school year.
