Qualifications:
Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (state and/or national). Experience in educational settings strongly preferred. Strong ASL proficiency and communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and student needs. Professional, empathetic, and positive demeanor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, staff, and faculty. Adapt interpreting methods to individual student needs and settings (classrooms, assemblies, etc.). Foster an inclusive environment that supports equal access to education. Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure continuity and understanding for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
