Job Description
Leidos is seeking a Kurdish Linguist to support mission-critical IT and national security programs. In this role, you will translate, transcribe, and interpret Kurdish (Kurmanji and/or Sorani) to and from English, ensuring high linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance. You will analyze written and audio materials, prepare clear English summaries, and support intelligence and technical teams with real-time interpretation. The position requires strict adherence to confidentiality, security protocols, and QA standards while working closely with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Responsibilities Translate and interpret Kurdish to and from English with high linguistic accuracy Transcribe and analyze Kurdish audio and written materials Produce clear English summaries and reports for technical and mission teams Apply cultural knowledge to ensure contextually accurate translations Support real-time interpretation for meetings and operations as needed Follow security, confidentiality, and data handling protocols Use CAT tools and other linguistic/IT systems to manage language assets Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and project staff in a fast-paced environment Perform quality assurance reviews of translated materials Maintain and update glossaries and term bases for Kurdish language content Required Skills Kurdish to English translation English to Kurdish translation Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation Transcription of audio materials Linguistic and cultural analysis Use of CAT tools/TMSTechnical and intelligence report writing Terminology and glossary management Information security and confidentiality practices Collaboration in multidisciplinary IT or mission teams
