Position:
(Purpose of the Position): Lead the set up, tear down, and maintenance of St. Olaf Theatre Department's lighting, digital media and audio equipment for theater productions.
Transferable Skills:
Knowledge and skills in the operation of theater technology and equipment to support theatrical productions. The ability to collaborate effectively with a small team under tight deadlines. The ability to find and solve technical problems quickly in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments. The ability to prioritize tasks and complete projects efficiently.
Systems Thinking Duties and Responsibilities:
Hang and Focus Lighting Equipment independently Set Up and tear down audio and media systems for each production with limited supervision. Perform maintenance on equipment with limited direction. Transport equipment between theaters on multiple levels.
Qualifications:
(Education/Experience/Skills): 1 year previous experience on LSM. Knowledge of St. Olaf Theater Lighting, Sound and Media facilities and equipment. Willingness to learn and work both independently and as part of a crew.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
This position requires crouching, stooping, kneeling/crawling, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting objects up to 50 lbs., operating hand tools, and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, proximity hazards, and heights or cramped quarters, as well as rare exposure to chemicals, vibrations, and wet or humid conditions indoors to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required to perform some essential functions.
