Pay:
$34.00 - $45.00 per hour (based on experience, position, and call type)
Schedule:
Variable. Days, nights, weekends, holidays. Call lengths vary. About the work United Entertainment Solutions provides skilled production labor to venues, producers, and production companies across the Hudson Valley and New York metro area. We are building an ongoing crew pool of Lighting Technicians to staff calls at theaters, performing arts centers, corporate meetings, concerts, galas, trade shows, and private events throughout Westchester County. This is on-call freelance work. You tell us your availability, we send you calls, you take the ones that fit. Techs who show up sharp and on time get called first and move up the rate range. What you'll do Load-in and load-out: unload trucks, cart and stage gear, assemble and strike Hang and cable conventional and LED fixtures, moving lights, and truss Run cable, distro, and power under the direction of the head electrician Focus, address, and troubleshoot fixtures Assist with console programming and board operation on calls that require it Follow spot operation as assigned Rigging assist, ladder and lift work where certified Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and follow all site safety rules What we're looking for Prior paid experience as a lighting tech, electrician, or stagehand in live events, theater, or corporate AV Working knowledge of conventional and LED fixtures, DMX, cabling, and power distribution Comfortable with ladders, personnel lifts, and overhead work Able to lift and carry 50 lbs repeatedly and stay on your feet for long calls Reliable transportation to sites across Westchester County Professional appearance and communication. You are on client sites representing us. Available for early call times, overnights, and weekends Nice to have Console experience: ETC Eos/Ion/Element, grandMA, Hog Vectorworks or Lightwright familiarity ETCP certification, OSHA 10 or 30, aerial lift certification Genie/scissor lift operation Own basic tools: multi-tool, adjustable wrench, gloves, flashlight, wrench for c-clamps Prior union or house crew experience Why work with us Steady flow of calls across multiple venues and clients, not a single-employer schedule You control your availability Rate advancement based on skill and reliability, not seniority alone Direct line to the office.
