Job Description

Sherman Productions is seeking an experienced freelance Lighting Director to join our crew for concerts, music festivals, and corporate events throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the Northeast. We provide turnkey live event production, including staging, audio, lighting, and LED video. Our lighting inventory includes Chauvet fixtures, and we operate HOG consoles. We have frequent opportunities from spring through fall, with a particularly busy summer season. We're looking to build a long-term relationship with someone who takes pride in delivering great shows and works well with our production team. What You'll Do Program and operate lighting for concerts, festivals, and corporate events. Create looks and cues appropriate to the artist, event, and client's vision. Busk live performances and execute programmed cues as needed. Participate in lighting load-in, setup, addressing, patching, testing, and strike. Troubleshoot fixture, console, and DMX issues. Coordinate with production managers, audio and video technicians, and visiting artist crews. Follow safe work practices and treat equipment with care. What We're Looking For Demonstrated experience programming and operating lighting for live events. HOG console experience strongly preferred. Applicants with strong experience on other professional lighting consoles are welcome to apply; please identify your primary platform. Familiarity with Chauvet moving lights or comparable professional fixtures. Strong understanding of DMX, fixture addressing, patching, and signal flow. Ability to adapt quickly and troubleshoot calmly during a live show. Dependability, clear communication, and a collaborative attitude. Availability for event-based work, including weekends, evenings, and long production days. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to regional events. Schedule & Compensation This is a freelance, event-based opportunity, with the most work available from spring through fall. Summer is our busiest season. Bookings depend on our event calendar, your availability, and the needs of each show. Compensation will be discussed based on experience, responsibilities, and event scope. Please include your usual day rate and the hours it covers. How to Apply Apply with a resume or summary of your live-event lighting experience.
Please include:
Consoles you have operated and your level of HOG experience. Examples of concerts, festivals, or corporate events you have worked. Photos, videos, or a portfolio of your lighting work, if available.
