Part-Time Operations Technician II Sumter County is Currently Seeking a Part-Time Operations Technician for Patriot Hall
Compensation:
$15.00 per hour
Schedule:
Approximately 15-25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends Position Summary The Part-Time Operations Technician provides technical and operational support for events and activities at Patriot Hall. This position assists with event preparation and operates sound, lighting and audiovisual systems to help ensure events run safely and smoothly. The position works events as scheduled and reports to the Assistant Recreation Director and Technical Director. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Coordinates the setup and preparation of sound, lighting and audiovisual systems for events. Operates sound, stage lighting, spotlights and other technical equipment during performances and events. Assists with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, staging and equipment. Provides technical assistance to clients, performers, contracted technicians and event staff. Monitors events and assists with crowd control to help maintain a safe environment for staff, performers and guests. Responds appropriately to emergency situations and follows established safety procedures. Secures the facility following events as assigned. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Requires three to five years of experience in stage sound and lighting operations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A valid driver's license is required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of stage production technology, sound systems, lighting systems and related equipment. Ability to safely operate equipment such as spotlights, stage lights, sound systems, Genie lifts and rigging systems. Knowledge of standard tools, materials, safety practices and precautions associated with stage and event operations. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately to routine and unexpected situations. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, performing artists, contracted technicians, service representatives, coworkers and the public. Ability to learn and apply new technical skills and information as equipment and operational needs change. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods while supporting events; bend, stoop, reach and work overhead as necessary; climb ladders and access equipment; and move tables, chairs, staging and technical equipment. Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an indoor auditorium and event venue. The position regularly works around the public, performers, vendors and event staff and may be exposed to loud noise during performances and events. The schedule is driven by Patriot Hall's event calendar and requires flexibility. Employees should expect approximately 15-25 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.
