This Isn't a Regular Retail Job At Nebraska Quilt Company, we don't push products — we create Amazing Experiences. When someone walks in curious about sewing, they leave inspired. Ready to get started, ready to sew, ready to share what they've made. And sometimes, with a new machine. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of that. Someone who genuinely loves connecting people with the right tools, who gets excited when a first-time sewist finds their machine, and who knows how to have a real conversation — not just run a transaction. If you've got sales instincts, a passion for sewing or crafts, and you love helping people make decisions they're excited about, keep reading. What You'll Actually Do Demo and consult on sewing machines — from beginner models to top-of-the-line machines across the brands we carry. You'll be expected to learn them all, and you'll love showing what they can do. Help Guests with everything. Machines are a big part of the role, but so is fabric, notions, patterns, and whatever someone walks in the door needing. We call it the NQC Way — every Guest gets the same warm, knowledgeable experience no matter what brought them in. Have real conversations. You'll ask good questions, listen well, and help Guests figure out what they actually need — not just what's on the shelf. Follow up. The sale isn't always made on the first visit. You'll reach out and stay connected with Guests who are still thinking it over. Welcome people into the community. Classes, events, clubs, new arrivals — you'll know what's happening and bring Guests into the fold. Meet your goals. This is a sales role. We'll set clear monthly targets together. You'll always know where you stand and what success looks like. You're a Great Fit If You... Have sales experience — in retail or anywhere you've helped people make considered decisions. You know how to guide someone to a great choice without pressure. Sew, quilt, embroider, or craft — or are genuinely excited to learn. You don't need to be an expert on day one, but you need to care about the craft. Love people. Not in a generic way — in an "I actually want to know your story" way. Our Guests aren't transactions. They're regulars, hobbyists, gift-givers, and lifelong learners. Are curious and coachable. We'll invest in training you on our machines and our brand. You have to be willing to dig in. Take ownership. You follow up without being reminded, you keep track of where your Guests are in the process, and you're honest about where you need help. What We Offer Competitive base pay + commission on machine sales Teammates who actually like each other Full product training — every teammate learns the machines and how to help Guests on the floor. You'll know what you're talking about from day one. A front-row seat to one of the best specialty retail communities in Nebraska A clear growth path — every hire starts as a Star. Once you're trained and ready, you earn the title of All-Star. We promote from within and we mean it. A Little About Us Nebraska Quilt Company is Fremont's home for sewing machines, fabric, and everything the modern maker needs. We carry top brands in the industry, run classes and events, and have built a community of sewists and quilters who come back again and again — not just to shop, but to belong.
