Position Summary & Description Digital Equipment Operation - STEAMSHOP makerspace is seeking students with initiative who are detail-oriented, computer-proficient, professional, reliable, and responsible. Candidates will be trained on the operation of digital fabrication equipment and will be responsible for assisting students utilizing the space and for general upkeep of
STEAMSHOP. DUTIES INCLUDE

Assisting students with fabrication equipment Maintaining a safe and positive work environment Tracking materials inventory Cleaning and organizing the space Position Qualifications
REQUIRED
: Must be able to work evenings and weekends Must have writing skills Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated Must be eligible for work study at the time of application Must have an interest in learning about and supporting 3D printing, laser cutting, and other
STEAMSHOP
technology Must possess a desire to learn about and work with associated software for 2D and 3D modeling and design
PREFERRED
: Experience using 3D CAD and CAM software for digital fabrication Makerspace experience Experience using 3D printing, laser cutting, related software, or other

technology The department is interested in candidates who have communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members. Must be professional, reliable, and responsible. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the interview(s). Essential Functions Communicate both orally and in writing to issue, receive and carry out instructions and orders effectively and to convey information to a variety of co-workers and the public Have basic computer literacy and a desire to learn how to operate 3D printers, a laser cutting machine, CNC routers, and similar digital fabrication equipment Perform manual duties such as sorting and organizing consumable materials (various weight limits) Operate fabrication equipment which may require stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, and prolonged standing Provide assistance and guidance to students utilizing
