Position Overview Bloomsburie LLC is seeking an experienced Photographer/Videographer to support a Federal Government agency strategic communications program in Falls Church, Virginia. This position is ideal for a versatile visual communications professional who can independently plan, capture, edit, and deliver high-quality photography and video content in support of senior leaders, organizational initiatives, events, and strategic messaging. The Photographer/Videographer will work as part of an integrated communications team that includes a Senior Writer and Multimedia Designer. The successful candidate will be comfortable translating communications objectives into compelling visual stories and working in a fast-paced Department of Defense environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, capture, edit, and produce professional photography and video content supporting Army communications requirements. Provide on-site photography and videography coverage for leadership engagements, ceremonies, meetings, interviews, special events, and other organizational activities. Produce executive and leadership photography, event photography, environmental portraits, and other imagery suitable for official communications. Record interviews, leadership messages, informational content, events, and other video productions. Perform video editing and post-production, including sequencing, audio enhancement, basic color correction, graphics integration, captioning, and preparation of final deliverables. Select, edit, organize, caption, and prepare photographs for use across digital and print communications channels. Set up and operate professional cameras, lenses, lighting, microphones, audio equipment, tripods, and other production equipment. Conduct location assessments and determine appropriate lighting, camera positioning, audio requirements, and other technical considerations. Collaborate with writers, multimedia designers, communications personnel, and Government stakeholders to develop cohesive communications products. Translate communications objectives, story concepts, and creative direction into effective visual content. Maintain organized digital photo and video files and support appropriate archiving and asset management. Manage multiple assignments and production deadlines while maintaining consistent technical and visual quality. Ensure visual products meet applicable Department of Defense and organizational standards. Required Qualifications Demonstrated professional experience in photography, videography, video production, visual communications, journalism, public affairs, or a closely related field . Strong portfolio demonstrating professional photography and videography capabilities. Demonstrated experience shooting and editing both still photography and video. Proficiency with professional digital camera systems and associated production equipment. Experience with professional video and photo editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, or comparable applications. Knowledge of composition, lighting, exposure, audio capture, video production, and post-production techniques. Ability to independently manage assignments from initial planning and production through editing and final delivery. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate professionally and collaborate effectively with senior leaders, Government personnel, and multidisciplinary communications teams. Ability to work full-time on-site in Falls Church, Virginia . Ability to satisfy Government suitability, background investigation, installation access, and security requirements associated with the position. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting the Department of Defense, U.S. Army, Federal Government, or military public affairs/strategic communications organizations . Experience photographing or filming senior military or Government leaders. Experience producing executive communications, public affairs, recruiting, organizational storytelling, or strategic communications content. Experience working in a fast-paced environment where assignments may require rapid turnaround. Familiarity with accessibility requirements, including captioning and preparation of digital communications products. Experience working as part of an integrated team of writers, designers, photographers, videographers, and communications professionals. What We Are Looking For We are looking for more than a camera operator. The ideal candidate is a hybrid visual storyteller who understands how photography and video support a broader communications objective. This individual should be comfortable receiving an assignment, determining the best visual approach, capturing the content, and producing a polished final product. The successful candidate will be dependable, responsive, collaborative, and comfortable working directly with Government customers and senior personnel. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
