Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the Production Studio Manager for the Fall 2026-Spring 2027 academic year, with the potential to extend the contract. The Production Studio Manager supports the operation of the Makkay Broadcast Center by overseeing scheduled Open Production Sessions while providing students with access to broadcast, podcasting, video production, and media facilities. During Open Production Sessions, the Production Studio Manager serves as a technical resource for students while completing assigned production, operational, and administrative responsibilities, including WKKL programming support and special projects.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Maintain approximately six hours of weekly Open Production Sessions, providing students with supervised access to the Makkay Broadcast Center facilities while serving as a technical resource and completing assigned production, operational, and administrative responsibilities. Assist in the checkout and return of broadcast, podcasting, video, and remote production equipment during Open Production Sessions. Assist in reviewing audio productions for technical quality and broadcast readiness. Assist with weekly WKKL program logs and production content uploads. Assist in recording and producing alumni, CCCC, and community features. Provide operational support to the WKKL Operations Director by assisting with routine station operations, monitoring and restarting automation systems as needed, communicating with engineering support during technical issues, and providing station coverage during scheduled absences. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Makkay Broadcast Center and WKKL.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Extensive knowledge of Adobe Audition and PlayItLive automation software (including voice tracking, remote management, recording, and scheduling) and FCC-compliant radio operations. Three years' experience in college and commercial radio operations. Extensive knowledge of broadcast studios, media production equipment, and media production environments. Ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while supporting student success and station operations. COMPENSATION
: Anticipated starting pay rate of $36.55/hour (Interval 1). Part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
