Designer:

To design scenery for the Production within the parameters of budget and schedule as stated in, and within limitations of the theatre, stage and staff.

To collaborate with the Directors and other designers to achieve the best product and highest quality possible.

Toplete sketches, drawings or models of the settings as necessary to convey design ideas, concepts and spatial relationships to the Directors and Theatre staff.

To assist inpliance with the Theatre's weight restrictions for the trusses, which can hold a uniformly distributed load of 301 lbs. A professional riggingpany has determined this amount, and both scenery and lighting must be taken into account, especially if they are on the same truss.

Toplete plans, sections, elevations and other technical drawings as necessary to convey to the Theatre all required information for construction of the scenery.

To provide material specifications or samples, and paint elevations or equivalent to convey adequate information for painting and/or finishing of the scenery.

To design, select, or approve properties for the production, including hand props, furniture, draperies and set dressing.

To design and/or coordinate special scenic effects for the production, including projections, fog, etc., if applicable.

To attend at least one planning block for each creative team to check-in/answer questions during the rehearsal process. Days/times will be scheduled at a later date.

To attend production meetings prior to and during the construction process, and to be available on a frequent basis for consultation and review of the scenery during the construction and painting process.

To be available to answer questions during technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances via rehearsal report and/or phone, and to attend portions of technical rehearsals; schedule will be made in agreement with Education Department.

Not engage in any romantic or otherwise inappropriate relationships with any of the program participants or staff of the program. to the Education Department or other Theatre staff any dangerous or questionable behaviors or situations immediately.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have experience as a scenic designer on theatrical productions. Applicants must have experience working with children, preferably in a theatrical setting. Applicants should be strong collaborators,municators, problem-solvers andanizers. Applicants should be able to balance an inclusive educational rehearsal process and a high-quality theatrical production. Applicants should be able to remain punctual, reliable, and flexible throughout the festival process. Completed or ongoing pursuit of training in theatre, arts management or education a plus. Must pass
