Full-time, Salaried About Us Les Yeux du Monde is an established contemporary art gallery located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Since 1995, we've represented a distinguished roster of artists, while also offering art advisory services to private and corporate clients. We're looking for a Gallery Associate who wants a hand in every facet of how the gallery runs—from the client relationship to the social post. About the Role This is a generalist role for someone who wants real ownership across our business and operations, not a narrow lane. You'll work closely with the Director on everything from client-facing sales to artist relationships to exhibition production. Responsibilities Client Relations & Sales Liaise directly with clients and collectors, in person and over email Speak thoughtfully and knowledgeably about the work and creative practice of represented and exhibited artists Coordinate artwork framing, shipping, and delivery logistics for clients Inventory Management & Record-Keeping Oversee and manage inventory both onsite and in our database Produce consignment and condition reports on incoming and outgoing artwork Conduct artwork pricing exercises in partnership with the Director Maintain client CRM records and mailing lists Marketing & Communications Design print and email materials in Canva; manage email blasts via Mailchimp Build content calendar, curate social feed, author social copy, and execute posting Update and maintain the gallery website (exhibition pages, artist pages, etc.) Photograph artwork for archival and promotional use Exhibitions Support & Event Management Support research and writing for exhibition texts, press releases, and marketing materials Coordinate with artists, art installers, framers, photographers, and other vendors to prepare for, mount, and document exhibitions Help facilitate events including openings, artist talks, and client luncheons Operations Act as day-to-day face of the gallery onsite, greeting visitors and overseeing gallery upkeep, opening and closing Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Art History, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with a demonstrated confidence in public speaking to small groups Passion for contemporary art and enthusiasm for our program Flexible availability, including 2-3 weekends per month Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and standard office software (MS Office, Google Suite) Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with physical tasks including lifting and carrying artwork 1-4 years of experience in a gallery, museum, or customer-facing arts environment a plus Experience with gallery management software (e.g., Artwork Archive) a plus What We Offer A dynamic, creative work environment surrounded by inspiring artwork and architecture Competitive salary commensurate with experience 20 days PTO annually, plus the week between Christmas and New Year's off Opportunities for professional development, curatorial involvement, and career growth A collaborative environment for those who care about art and want to build a career in it To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter telling us about your background and why you're excited about this role.
