Fall Play Costume Lead Location:

Ellensburg High School

Reports to: Director, Producer and ASB Coordinator

Stipend Amount:

$980.00

Job Summary:

Oversees all aspects below and seeks out additional design expertise or support as needed. Reports directly to Director, Producer / ASB Coordinator. Work closely with, educate and supervise all student crew in this area. Work closely with and supervise all parent and community volunteers in this area

Essential Job Functions:

Design and research costume design for period accuracy Plan all costume elements to align with director's vision.

Coordinate with hair and makeup directors

Work closely with, educate and supervise all student crew in this area

Work closely with and supervise all parent and community volunteers in this area

Maintain accurate accounts of spending according to budget

Oversee and organize costume construction and volunteer seamstress assistance

Arrange rentals when necessary Work with cast schedules to accomplish all fittings

Assist with the coordination of technical aspects of the show that are affected by costumes, example: quick changes.

Inform cast of all necessary information including proper undergarments, footwear (in collaboration with choreographer), tights, etc.

Provide training or education to cast on how to wear costumes, accessories and any other articles of clothing or undergarments

Organize elements of costumes in garment bags Attend rehearsals requiring costume fittings

Supervise secure storage of all costumes or most valuable elements of costumes

Attend evening rehearsals that include costuming

Prepare and maintain adequate costume mending supplies kit for backstage

Check all actors for quality control before stage appearance

Attend set strike and oversee costume breakdown

Make arrangements for cleaning of all costumes that require cleaning: washing cotton and polyester

Make arrangements for dry cleaning

Reports directly to Director, Producer / ASB Coordinator

Return costumes and organize costume storage

Minimum Requirements:

Must qualify to work in the proximity of children under the conditions of a WSP/FBI background check.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
