Position Overview:
Ion Inspections is a third-party provider seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Condition Report Writer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to inspect and document the condition of vehicles that come through our auction. This position is entirely outdoors, requiring you to work in various weather conditions. Once fully trained, this role offers a high degree of independence, including the ability to set your own hours. However, since we serve the needs of our clients, careful coordination of these hours will be critical to ensure that all client requirements are met. This position will work onsite in Fontana but also offsite at various clients throughout LA and Orange county.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Inspection:
Thoroughly inspect between 70 and 100 vehicles per week, assessing both the exterior and interior for damages, wear, and other condition-related issues.Documentation:
Accurately document all findings in the condition report, including detailed descriptions of any damage, repairs needed, or wear and tear.Photography:
Take clear, high-quality photographs of each vehicle to accompany the condition report.Communication:
Collaborate with other auction staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting of vehicle conditions. Communicate any major concerns to the auction management team.Data Entry:
Input condition report data into the auction's database systems efficiently and without errors.

Quality Assurance:
Ensure all reports meet company standards and provide a comprehensive overview of each vehicle's condition.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Prior experience in vehicle inspection, automotive repair, or a related field is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.- Attention to
Detail:
Ability to spot even minor issues in vehicles and accurately report them.
Technical Skills:
Basic computer skills for data entry and familiarity with digital cameras for photography.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and inspect vehicles for extended periods. Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach various positions to inspect all areas of the vehicles.Independence:
Once fully trained, this role offers a high degree of independence, including the ability to set your own hours. However, coordinating these hours with client needs will be critical to ensure that all requirements are met. Inspections are conducted entirely outside, regardless of weather conditions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Training and Compensation:
- During the training period, which typically lasts 2 to 4 weeks, you will be paid minimum wage rate. The training duration depends on how quickly you learn and adapt to our internal systems.
- After successfully completing training, you will transition to performance-based pay, per vehicle inspected, with the opportunity to inspect between 70 and 100 vehicles each week.
