Job Description

Emelody Worldwide is seeking a Technical Proposal Writer / Business Development Lead to own customer-facing technical capture work for our aerospace, defense, and manufacturing programs. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and business development: you will turn technical capability into clear proposals and quotes, build relationships with customers, and represent the company at customer sites and industry conferences when it advances our pipeline.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation of technical proposals for government contracts, including statements of work, technical approaches, compliance matrices, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop accurate, competitive quotes for customers based on engineering scope, materials, labor, and schedule.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership to gather technical inputs, validate assumptions, and align proposal content with company capabilities.
  • Visit customer sites to understand requirements, support technical discussions, and strengthen ongoing relationships.
  • Represent Emelody Worldwide at conferences and industry events where appropriate to support business development and customer engagement.
  • Track proposal status, customer feedback, and follow-up actions through award or closeout.
  • Manage and coordinate a technical team as needed to produce high-quality proposal and quoting deliverables on deadline.
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent engineering degree) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a technical team within an engineering field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to customers and evaluators.
  • Experience preparing technical proposals, responses to RFPs/RFQs, or similar customer-facing technical documents preferred.
  • Comfortable working with customers on site and representing the company in professional settings, including conferences when appropriate.
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals and quotes under deadline pressure.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and events as needed.
Nice to

  • Experience with U.S. government contracting (DoD, NASA, or related agencies).
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with proposal tools, cost estimating, or capture management practices.
Compensation:
$80,000
  • $120,000 annually, plus bonus.
