Bachelor's degree or higher Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer III to support a USCIS program in a hybrid environment. The Technical Writer will work with technical teams, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to gather and translate complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing and editing technical documentation, user manuals, training materials, system documentation, installation guides, reports, and other customer-facing deliverables for both technical and non-technical audiences. Key Responsibilities Gather, analyze, organize, and translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation. Develop technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences . Create and maintain user manuals, training materials, installation guides, technical reports, proposals, and supporting documentation . Write and edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user guides, special reports, and customer deliverables . Work with technical teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand systems, processes, and technical requirements. Translate highly technical concepts into understandable, accessible content. Review existing documentation for accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammar, and usability. Edit and standardize documentation to ensure consistency across project deliverables. Develop instructional and reference materials supporting system users and project stakeholders. Maintain and update technical documentation as systems, processes, and requirements evolve. Ensure documentation meets established project, customer, and organizational standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher. 7+ years of professional technical writing experience. Demonstrated experience developing and editing technical documentation within complex IT or technology environments.
Experience creating:
User manuals and user guides Training materials System and technical documentation Installation/configuration guides Functional descriptions System specifications Technical reports Customer deliverables Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences . Experience gathering information from engineers, developers, analysts, SMEs, and other technical stakeholders . Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and document organization skills. Ability to manage multiple documentation requirements and deliverables simultaneously
Pay:
$30.00 - $44.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
