Job Description

Videographer for San Fransisco Bay Area Conference Interviews Visionary Santa Clara, CA Job Details Contract | Freelance $25 - $35 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Adobe Photoshop Teamwork Final Cut Pro Content creation Adobe Premiere Full Job Description Freelance Conference Videographer — Santa Clara, CAProject Overview We're seeking a talented freelance videographer to partner with us at an upcoming conference in Santa Clara, California, taking place from the 15th through the 17th of [Month]. This assignment is exclusively an on-site video and audio capture opportunity . The primary focus will be filming professional conference interviews, with the possibility of capturing select keynote, panel, and candid event footage. Editing and post-production are not part of this assignment. A separate team will handle all editing, color correction, graphics, and final delivery. This paid freelance engagement is intended to serve as a trial partnership. If we work well together, there may be opportunities to collaborate on future conferences, interviews, and other video-production projects. Schedule and Compensation This is not necessarily a full-day commitment for all three conference days. Filming hours will be established on a day-by-day basis around specific interview and shoot sessions. The selected videographer may be scheduled for defined time blocks on one, two, or all three days between the 15th and 17th. Call times will be coordinated in advance whenever possible, although some flexibility is appreciated as conference programming and interview availability may change. Compensation for this initial engagement is $25-$35 per hour , depending on experience, equipment, and fit. Applicants should confirm that this hourly range is acceptable within the context of the broader collaboration, including the potential to receive business referrals and develop new client relationships through the conference. Business Development and Networking Potential In addition to paid filming hours, this engagement provides access to meaningful networking and commercial opportunities. The conference attracts professionals and organizations that regularly invest in videography, content creation, and post-production services. Many of the people we interview may need additional video support for their businesses, brands, or organizations after the event. When appropriate, we intend to direct relevant opportunities and referrals to the videographer we select. The selected freelancer may have opportunities to: Build relationships with conference participants and interview subjects. Generate new videography and content-production business. Receive direct referrals from us for follow-up projects. Develop ongoing client relationships arising from conference introductions. Collaborate with us on future conferences and filming assignments. Access to conferences of this kind typically requires a pass costing $3,000 or more . Through this paid assignment, the videographer will gain access in a professional working capacity while meeting potential clients and demonstrating their capabilities in a highly relevant environment. This creates a potentially significant business-development opportunity in addition to the hourly compensation. Prospective projects, client conversions, and referrals are not guaranteed. Project Responsibilities Set up and operate professional cameras, microphones, lighting, and audio equipment. Film interviews with conference speakers, attendees, and other featured participants. Capture selected panel discussions, keynote presentations, or candid conference moments when requested. Manage framing, camera angles, focus, exposure, and lighting to produce consistently professional footage. Record clean, high-quality audio in a busy live-event environment. Monitor recording quality throughout each shoot session. Organize, label, and securely manage footage during the event. Transfer all captured video and audio files to the designated post-production team. Collaborate with us before and during the conference to understand the intended visual style, production priorities, and technical requirements. Preferred Experience Professional videography or media-production experience supported by a strong portfolio. Experience filming interviews, conferences, corporate events, or other fast-paced live environments. Confidence operating DSLR, mirrorless, or professional cinema cameras. Proficiency with lighting, microphones, audio recorders, and related production equipment. Strong interview-filming, composition, and visual-storytelling instincts. Ability to record footage in the required formats and deliver well-organized media to a separate editing team. Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain close attention to detail. Professional communication, reliability, and a collaborative approach. Editing experience is not required for this assignment.
