Job Description

Part-Time Videographer & Video Editor Neu Appliances Georgetown, Texas Part-Time | $20/hour Expected Weekly Hours | 20-30 We Shoot A Lot of Content. We Need Someone Who Can Help Us Keep Up. Neu Appliances is building a content machine around an industry that desperately needs better content. Appliances aren't exactly known for being exciting. We're changing that. We're looking for a part-time Videographer & Video Editor based in Georgetown, Texas who can help us shoot, edit, organize, and occasionally appear in a steady stream of video content across the entire Neu Appliances family of companies. You'll work across: Neu Appliance Outlet
  • Retail, scratch & dent, open-box appliances Neu Appliance Repair
  • Appliance repair education and service content Neu Appliance Parts
  • Repair parts, how-to videos, product content Neu Appliance Wholesale
  • B2B appliance wholesale and industry content This isn't a job where you'll spend two weeks polishing one corporate boring video. We want someone who likes to
  • shoot, edit, publish, learn, improve, and do it again at a high caliber and speed.
  • What You'll Be Creating Our content ranges from quick selfie-style social videos to longer educational pieces.
You'll help create things like: Appliance Nerd educational videos Appliance feature demonstrations Repair tips and how-to content Customer testimonials and social proof Promotional and sales videos Product videos Behind-the-scenes content Podcast editing Warehouse and operations content YouTube videos Instagram, Facebook and TikTok Reels Longer-form educational explainers Recap videos Intro videos Selfie-style promotional videos Selfie-style educational videos Creative video content AI-assisted graphics, animation, and production elements when they make the content better Some videos may be simple talking-head edits. Others may include multiple cameras, B-roll, graphics, animations, sound effects, captions, product shots, drone footage, or more creative storytelling. A large part of our content is designed to feel natural, fast, and authentic — not overly polished or corporate. Context Is King This is probably one of the most important parts of the job. We strongly believe context is king. We aren't trying to produce content just for the sake of producing content. Getting a video isn't the goal. Getting the right video is. If you're filming an appliance feature, repair, customer experience, warehouse process, or educational video, you need to understand enough about what is happening to recognize what actually matters.
That means:
Asking questions before and during a shoot Understanding the point we're trying to communicate Recognizing when the best part of the story hasn't been captured yet Getting the right B-roll instead of random B-roll Making sure demonstrations actually show what we're talking about Catching important details, reactions, steps, features, problems, and results Asking someone to explain something again if the first explanation wasn't clear Thinking about the edit while you're shooting Knowing when you have enough footage — and when you don't We don't want someone who comes back from a shoot with two hours of footage but somehow missed the one thing the entire video was supposed to explain. You need to be paying attention to the story, not just the camera. We Strongly Avoid AI-Generated Scripts We use technology heavily, including AI where it makes sense. But we strongly avoid using AI to manufacture the substance of our content. AI doesn't have the hands-on experience of our technicians, salespeople, warehouse teams, customers, and Appliance Nerds. That real-world knowledge is exactly what makes our content valuable. We don't want generic AI scripts that sound knowledgeable but miss the actual context.
Our best content comes from:
Real people. Real experience. Real appliances. Real problems. Real answers. AI can help with things like production, graphics, animation, organization, captions, or creative experimentation. But it should not replace understanding the subject. If you're creating an educational video about a refrigerator feature, we want you talking to the person who actually understands that feature — not asking AI to invent five talking points about it. Your job is to capture the knowledge that's already in the building and turn it into great content. You Should Be Comfortable On Camera This role is primarily about shooting and editing, but you should also be comfortable being on camera when needed. We create a lot of selfie-style and personality-driven content.
That could include:
Quick promotional videos Educational videos Product intros Recaps Event or project updates Behind-the-scenes clips Social media intros and outros Short explanations or transitions between clips You do not need to be a professional actor or influencer. You do need to be able to pick up a camera or phone, speak naturally, and communicate clearly without freezing up. Most of the time you'll be filming someone else. Sometimes you'll be filming yourself. Sometimes you'll be doing both. We want someone who is comfortable becoming part of the content when the video calls for it. What You'll Actually Do Shoot Video Work with our team to capture content at our different locations and wherever the story takes us.
That could include:
Talking-head content Product demonstrations Appliance features Repair demonstrations B-roll Warehouse activity Employees Customer stories Drone footage Short-form social content Long-form videos Selfie-style content On-camera intros and recaps Traveling between Neu Appliances locations and other local shoot locations You'll help make sure footage looks good, sounds good, and actually captures the information and context needed to tell the story. Edit Video Take raw footage and turn it into content people actually want to watch.
That includes:
Cutting and pacing Captions Music B-roll Zooms and punch-ins Graphics Sound effects Transitions Basic color correction Audio cleanup Hooks Social formatting Long-form YouTube editing Editing isn't just making footage look cool. You should be able to look through what was captured, identify the strongest information, remove what doesn't matter, and build an edit that clearly communicates the point of the video. Help Us Experiment We're not looking for someone who says: "That's not how video production is normally done." We're looking for someone who says: "Let's try it." We constantly test new formats, editing styles, hooks, animations, graphics, drone shots, selfie content, AI production tools, and new ways of explaining appliances. If you enjoy experimenting with video and figuring out how to make the next video better than the last one, you'll fit in well here. We Provide the Gear You do not need to own professional camera or editing equipment. Neu Appliances provides all of the tools you need to do the job, including: Professional cameras Lenses Audio equipment Lighting equipment Drones Video production accessories Editing computer Video editing software AI and content creation software Storage and production equipment We want you focused on learning, creating and producing great content , not worrying about spending thousands of dollars building your own equipment setup. Experience using professional equipment is a plus, but ownership of equipment is not required . Reliable Transportation Is Required This is not a sit-at-one-location-all-day position. Our companies operate across multiple locations, and our content happens wherever the action is. You may be shooting at our Georgetown operations one day, our Austin retail store another day, or traveling to another local location for a repair, customer story, event, project, or promotional shoot. Because of that, you must have: Reliable personal transportation A valid driver's license The ability to travel between our locations and local filming locations as needed The flexibility to transport yourself to shoots throughout the Austin/Georgetown area We provide the cameras and production equipment. You need to be able to reliably get yourself where the content is happening. Who We're Looking For You don't need 10 years of professional experience. You do need to care about making good content. We're looking for someone who: Knows or wants to learn how to shoot quality video Understands basic lighting and audio Can confidently edit short-form video Can edit longer YouTube-style content Is comfortable being on camera Can speak naturally in selfie-style videos Has a personality that translates well to video Has reliable transportation Can travel between locations for shoots Understands pacing and viewer retention Understands that context matters more than simply getting footage Is curious and willing to ask questions Can recognize when something important is missing from a shoot Thinks about the final story while filming Notices when an edit feels boring Can take direction without needing every cut explained Can organize footage and project files Can work independently Is dependable Can handle a high volume of content Wants to get better quickly Most importantly, we want someone with creative instincts, curiosity, and some personality. We'd rather have someone who asks: "Wait — why does that happen?" than someone who silently records it without understanding why anyone should care. If you watch a video and immediately start thinking about how you would have shot it, edited it, explained it, or presented it differently, we probably want to talk to you. Experience Professional video experience is great, but your portfolio matters more than your resume. This could be a great role for: A freelance videographer wanting consistent work A film or video student A content creator A YouTube editor A social media video editor Someone early in their video career who wants a massive amount of real-world experience You don't have to show up with $20,000 worth of equipment. We already have the equipment. We need the person who knows how to make something great with it. Compensation $20/hour Part-time | Approximately 20-30 hours per week This is an in-person role based primarily in Georgetown, Texas , with regular travel to our other locations and local shoots throughout the Austin/Georgetown area. Why This Job Is Different We're not trying to make a couple of nice company videos. We're building one of the largest libraries of appliance-related video content in the industry. Between retail, repair, parts, wholesale, product education, training, and social media, there is almost an unlimited amount of content for us to create. You'll get a ridiculous amount of experience shooting, editing, and even appearing in different types of content. More importantly, you'll be surrounded by people who actually know this industry and care about what they do. Your job is to extract that knowledge, capture it correctly, and turn it into content people can learn from. You'll also get hands-on experience with professional cameras, drones, editing software, AI production tools, and a full production setup without needing to personally invest in all of the equipment. And you'll have room to bring ideas to the table. If you see something and think: "I could make a really cool video out of that." We want you to make it.
How to Apply Send us:
A little about yourself Your availability Links to anything you've shot or edited Any examples of you speaking on camera What editing software you've used Any cameras, drones, or production equipment you're familiar with Confirmation that you have reliable transportation and can travel between local shoot locations Do not worry about sending us a perfectly polished corporate cover letter. Show us what you've made. We care a lot more about that.
