Groves Adult High School Counselor

Job Description

Groves Adult High School Counselor - (part-time evening, 7-10 hours/week, available immediately) Students are adult learners (age 16+) taking in person high school level content area classes to complete a high school diploma with James H. Groves Adult High School. The counselor will assist students with academic and career planning, connect students with community resources and support services, and help students successfully transition to employment, postsecondary education, or occupational training.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist students with developing career plans and postsecondary goals. Support students with course scheduling, academic planning, and program completion. Connect students with appropriate school, community, employment, and social service resources. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, career services staff, and community partners to support student success. Assist with student orientation and transition planning. Maintain accurate and confidential student records. Participate in required professional development and comply with applicable regulations and district policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Appropriate school counseling credentials/licensure as required. Experience working with adolescents and/or adults in an educational setting preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying educational and personal needs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other commonly used educational technology.
Qualifications:
Successful candidate(s) will be licensed in secondary math; special education certification is desired. Position is available on Monday and Wednesday, 5:30-9:00 p.m. in Woodside. Offer of employment is conditional upon favorable professional references, negative TB test, and favorable criminal background check. Starting rate of pay is $35/hour.

From $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 7.0 - 10.0 per week
