Job Description
Job Overview:
The Lebanon School District is seeking an Adult Education ESL Teacher to conduct low to intermediate level English instruction for adult students in the areas of reading, listening, pronunciation, communication and grammar. These classes may take place offsite in the greater Lebanon area, and some classes may involve basic medical English. This course will run from fall 2026 until June 2027, with the possibility of a summer session afterwards.
Job Goals:
- Positively interact and build trusting relationships with students by creating community within the class through a welcoming and empathetic learning environment for our diverse student population.
- Be communicative in your approach in order to foster participation in class.
- Put theory into a practical, real-world context.
- Oversee lesson planning and completion of homework assignments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably adult students.
- Ideally possesses a TESOL certificate or similar.
- Strong computer skills.
Familiarity with CANVAS is highly desired.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have good physical agility, which requires the following: bending, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 20 pounds, good dexterity, ability to reach, depth perception, color/peripheral/close vision, ability to adjust focus.
Pay:
This position is grant-funded, with pay starting at $32.00 per hour, depending on experience. There is potential for two afternoon classes, one from 2:00
- 4:00, two days per week, and the other from 6:00
- 8:00, two days per week.
This position included paid prep work.
