Description Grand View University Art Adjunct In addition to its regular, full-time faculty, we seek faculty and creative professionals with industry experience to teach courses on a part-time basis. These positions are not available every semester and are contingent upon course offerings. Qualifications To be qualified to teach at the university, candidates must possess a terminal degree in studio art or graphic design. In occasional cases, demonstrated professional experience in a specialized discipline and a sustained history of distinguished professional work, compelling creative achievements, or other significant experience in the relevant field may be considered as an alternative to the required degree. Required Master's degree in Fine Arts or related field, or a significant record of accomplishment in the field Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to translate complex art concepts into clear, accessible assignments Preferred Master of Fine Art degree in Studio Art, Printmaking, Sculpture, Graphic Design, Photography or related discipline Demonstrated success in teaching, lecturing, or mentoring students, either in an academic or professional setting, in higher education studio art or design programs A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and professional growth among students Experience working in various studio art contexts Ability to engage students effectively convey concepts, critique, and guide students in developing their portfolios An understanding of current trends in the art field to provide insights into the evolving nature of the field To Apply Submit a cover letter, resume, online portfolio link or PDF of sample of creative/professional work and contact information for at least three references.
