We offer classes, workshops, and community outreach programs that enrich lives through creative expression both on our campus and throughout the Coachella Valley. Position Summary The Outreach Art Instructor provides high-quality visual art instruction at both on-site and off-site partner locations. This position requires a dependable, self-motivated individual with strong teaching and organizational skills. Instructors must be comfortable managing class setup, transportation, and cleanup independently, while maintaining professionalism and adaptability in a variety of settings. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Teach engaging art classes across a variety of media, including painting, ceramics, and mixed media. Adapt lessons for different ages, abilities, and skill levels. Prepare, maintain, and transport materials and supplies needed for each class. Outreach Operations Load, transport, and unload art materials and equipment for off-site outreach programs. Set up and clean up classroom spaces to meet studio standards. Communicate regularly with the Community Engagement Director regarding scheduling, supply needs, and class updates. Represent Old Town Artisan Studios professionally in all community settings and interactions. Safety & Classroom Management Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized learning environment. Supervise participants to ensure proper and safe use of tools and materials. Follow all safety procedures and promptly report incidents or concerns. Teamwork & Support Collaborate effectively with volunteers, instructors, and staff. Participate in special events, community programs, and seasonal activities as needed. Complete administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, supply requests, and timesheets accurately and on time. Complete any other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Background in visual or studio arts required; teaching experience preferred. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate large vans safely. Reliable, self-driven, and able to complete assigned tasks efficiently. Excellent communication and time management skills.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
