Responsibilities:
Provide instruction in children's after-school classes. We currently have an opening for an instructor in Dobbs Ferry on Monday afternoons starting late September.
Teach from our detailed lesson plans, or you may develop your own plans that are aligned with the specific description of the class you are leading.
Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters student learning and growth.
Excellent attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications:
Prior experience working with children between the ages of 7-10 years.
Interest in teaching art classes with varied materials.
Your own reliable transportation allowing you to commute to the job site and carry the necessary supplies. We deliver supplies to you in advance of class.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively manage student behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
Willingness to learn new techniques. We will gladly train you in any technique you need to learn to be prepared for class.
Must be available during afterschool hours. The exact timing varies by school. The Dobbs Ferry classes will run from 3:05-4:05pm. You must be able to arrive at the school at least 15 minutes ahead to park and clear security.
The class in Dobbs Ferry focuses on art projects for grades 3-5.
The pay of $70
75 per hour is for the contact time during class.
You will have to spend some extra time familiarizing yourself with the lesson before class and making sure the room is tidy afterward. We work to minimize your prep/cleanup time as much as possible. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are committed to providing hands-on, project-based learning to our students.
