12/31/2026 4:23 PM Eastern Position Summary The Division of Communication, Arts & Humanities is seeking an instructor to teach Foundations, including one or more of the following courses: Drawing
I, II 2D
Design 3D Design Color Theory and Design Introduction to Painting Art + Design Foundations provides students with a base of skills and knowledge necessary for upper-level coursework in which students learn the fundamentals of art and design, methods and materials, historical and contemporary figures, and the process of creative thinking. Delaware County Community College offers three programs in which students can earn an Associates in Fine Art (AFA) majoring in Studio Art, Graphic Design, or Photography. Instructors must hold an MFA in a related field; college teaching experience preferred. Essential Functions Essential Functions Develop assignments which emphasize the Elements and Principles of Design. Demonstrate methods and materials both traditional and contemporary. Introduce traditional and contemporary artists, critical issues, and dialogue. Utilize our online learning platform, CANVAS, to oversee project descriptions, grading, attendance, and communication. Practice teaching methods which support diverse backgrounds and learning capacities.
