English & Spanish) AVL Academy - 2.5 Fair Oaks, CA Job Details Part-time $35 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Behavior management Spanish English Experience working with children Student support Adult learning Adult language education Full Job Description Braiding Instructor AVL Academy - Fair Oaks, CA $35.00 per hour | Part-Time | In-Person AVL Academy is seeking a talented and experienced Bilingual Hair Braiding Instructor (English & Spanish) to join our instructional team. We are looking for a skilled hair braider with strong hands-on experience in classic, modern, and creative braiding techniques who enjoys sharing their knowledge with others. No Cosmetology License required. If you are an experienced braider who is passionate about your craft and interested in becoming an instructor, AVL Academy provides the curriculum, materials, and training needed to help you succeed in the classroom. This is a part-time teaching position with small groups of approximately 6-8 students in a supportive, hands-on learning environment. Key Responsibilities Teach and demonstrate professional Hair Braiding Techniques, including: Three-Strand Braids French & Dutch Braids Cornrows Feed-In Braids Box Braids Knotless Braids Crochet Braids Braiding with Kanekalon and extension hair Sectioning and parting techniques Creative and modern braid designs Proper preparation, tension, finishing, and maintenance techniques Sanitation and professional work practices Additional responsibilities include: Prepare and deliver step-by-step demonstrations and guided practice Teach students how to recreate different braiding patterns and designs Supervise hands-on practice using mannequins and live models Support and mentor students at beginner and intermediate skill levels Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique Maintain a positive, organized, and professional classroom environment Track attendance and student progress (training provided) Represent AVL Academy with professionalism and enthusiasm
Requirements Bilingual:
English & Spanish (Required) Minimum 2 years of professional or extensive hands-on hair braiding experience preferred. Strong knowledge of multiple braiding techniques and styles Ability to create clean, professional, and creative braid designs Comfortable demonstrating techniques step-by-step Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient and passionate about helping others learn Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Teaching or training experience is preferred but not required Portfolio or photos of previous braiding work required Schedule Classes are held once per week per student group Minimum of 4 hours per class session Instructors may teach multiple groups per week depending on availability and student enrollment Weekday, evening, and weekend opportunities may be available Flexible scheduling based on instructor availability Opportunity to increase weekly teaching hours as new groups open Compensation $35.00 per hour Opportunities to teach additional classes Potential for increased hours as enrollment grows Professional growth opportunities within AVL Academy Curriculum, training, and instructional materials provided Supportive management and small class sizes Why Join AVL Academy?
