Mandarin Bilingual Test Prep Instructor (SAT / TOEFL / IELTS) iLearn Education - 4.3 Irvine, CA Job Details Part-time $26 - $40 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Mandarin Linguistics Education Working with students Grammar Experience Constructive feedback for students Full Job Description About the Position iLearn Education is seeking an experienced Mandarin-English bilingual Test Prep Instructor to teach SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, and other English proficiency and standardized test preparation courses. We are particularly interested in educators who have previous teaching experience at established test preparation centers in China or the United States, especially those with a strong background in preparing students for competitive examinations. Key Responsibilities Teach SAT Reading & Writing, TOEFL, IELTS, and other test preparation courses based on experience and expertise. Help students develop effective test-taking strategies, reading comprehension, academic writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills. Assess students' strengths and weaknesses and develop targeted instructional plans. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking students and parents regarding academic progress and preparation strategies. Provide engaging, structured, and results-oriented instruction in both small-group and private tutoring settings. Qualifications Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is required. Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field preferred. Previous teaching experience in SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, or comparable English proficiency examinations. Experience teaching at established test preparation institutions in China is strongly preferred , including New Oriental Education (新东方) or similar organizations. Strong understanding of standardized testing formats, scoring systems, and effective preparation strategies. Ability to explain complex English language concepts clearly to Mandarin-speaking students. Strong classroom management, communication, and student assessment skills. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience teaching standardized test preparation courses. Demonstrated success helping students improve standardized test scores. Experience developing test preparation materials, lesson plans, or curriculum. Experience working with Chinese international students or Mandarin-speaking families. Ability to teach multiple test preparation subjects is a plus.
