This is a full-time teaching position divided approximately equally between Physical Education and Spanish instruction . The ideal candidate will enjoy working with students across a wide range of grade levels and will be able to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote physical fitness, teamwork, character, communication skills, and an appreciation for the Spanish language and culture. As a member of the MCS faculty, this teacher will also participate in the broader spiritual and academic life of the school and support our mission of developing students academically, physically, socially, and spiritually. Primary ResponsibilitiesPhysical Education — Approximately 50% The Physical Education Teacher will: Provide developmentally appropriate PE instruction for students in grades K-12. Teach fundamental movement skills, fitness, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness. Develop age-appropriate units in individual and team activities. Establish a positive, structured, and safe environment for physical activity. Modify instruction and activities to accommodate different ages, abilities, and skill levels. Assess student participation, skill development, effort, knowledge, and growth. Maintain appropriate equipment and help ensure that PE facilities and instructional areas are safe and organized. Reinforce MCS expectations for character, respect, perseverance, teamwork, and personal responsibility. Coordinate with administration regarding PE scheduling, facilities, equipment, and schoolwide activities. Spanish — Approximately 50% The Spanish Teacher will: Provide age-appropriate Spanish-language instruction across assigned K-12 grade levels. Introduce younger students to Spanish through vocabulary, conversation, songs, activities, stories, and interactive learning. Provide increasingly structured language instruction as students progress through elementary and middle school. Teach high school Spanish courses designed to develop proficiency in reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural understanding. Develop lesson plans, assignments, projects, quizzes, examinations, and other assessments appropriate to each course and grade level. Provide regular feedback and intervention when students need additional assistance. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and academic records. Communicate regularly with parents regarding classroom learning, expectations, and student progress. Ensure that high school courses are taught with the academic rigor and instructional integrity expected of MCS college-preparatory courses. Schoolwide Responsibilities The teacher will also: Support the Christian mission, philosophy, and culture of Motion Christian School. Integrate a biblical worldview and Christian character into interactions with students. Participate in chapel, staff meetings, professional development, school events, and other faculty responsibilities. Establish clear classroom expectations, procedures, and routines. Maintain professional and timely communication with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support individual student needs. Participate in the school's faculty evaluation and professional-growth process. Serve as a positive Christian role model for students. Qualifications MCS recognizes that effective Christian educators may come from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds. Candidates will therefore be considered based upon their education, certification, professional experience, content knowledge, Christian testimony, and demonstrated ability to effectively teach and work with students .
Preferred qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in education, physical education, Spanish, or a related field; or a combination of relevant college coursework, professional training, certification, and demonstrated teaching experience. Teaching certification through the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS) , or willingness and eligibility to pursue appropriate Christian-school certification as required by MCS. Demonstrated competency in Spanish sufficient to provide effective instruction at the assigned grade/course levels. Knowledge of age-appropriate physical education and fitness instruction. Ability to teach and manage students ranging from kindergarten through high school. Strong classroom-management, organizational, and communication skills. Commitment to continued professional growth. Agreement with and willingness to support the mission, values, and Statement of Faith of Motion Christian School. High School Academic Expectations Because this position may include credit-bearing high school Spanish and Physical Education courses, the teacher is responsible for delivering the complete MCS-approved curriculum and maintaining appropriate documentation of student learning. High school instruction will be teacher-led and conducted on campus . The teacher will provide direct instruction, monitor student engagement and progress, grade student work, provide feedback and intervention, administer assessments, and maintain records demonstrating completion of required coursework and instructional expectations. Schedule This is a full-time K-12 faculty position , with the teaching assignment structured approximately as: 50% Physical Education 50% Spanish The final daily and weekly teaching schedule will be established by MCS administration based upon grade-level enrollment and the school's K-12 master schedule.
