Job Description

Adjunct Professor-(Biochemistry / Organic Chemistry / Genetics) Job DescriptionJob Description Position Overview Moore Marine College is seeking a versatile and student-focused Adjunct Professor to teach one or two undergraduate-level or graduate level coursework in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and/or genetics . This is an on-site position at our Clearwater, Florida campus. Associate Professors are compensated per course for a 14-week semester, with classes meeting in 1.5-hour sessions twice per week . This is a teaching-focused position designed for an educator who can deliver strong foundational science instruction while helping students connect these concepts to real-world marine biology applications. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas: Biochemistry Organic Chemistry Genetics Develop and oversee introductory laboratory components , including: Basic chemical and molecular techniques Sample analysis and data interpretation Lab safety and protocol instruction Integrate core scientific concepts into marine and environmental contexts Support student learning, engagement, and academic development Assist with curriculum development as programs expand Qualifications Master's degree required; Ph.D. preferred in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field Prior teaching experience preferred (college-level a plus) Laboratory experience required Ability to teach across multiple disciplines is highly desirable Strong communication skills and a student-centered teaching approach What Sets This Role Apart Primary focus on undergraduate teaching and mentorship Small class sizes and high student interaction Opportunity to help build and shape a growing academic program Integration with a marine-focused, hands-on curriculum Compensation Competitive salary based on experience Opportunity for growth as the college expands How to Apply Interested candidates should submit: Resume/CV Cover letter Contact information for three professional references \nCompany Description About Moore Marine College Moore Marine College is a state-licensed, hands-on marine science institution focused on combining strong academic foundations with real-world field experience.
