Posting Details Posting Details Posting Number 0801702 Classification Title Chemistry Adjunct Faculty Working Title Department Department of Agriculture and Life Sciences Department Contact Email kcarter2@centralstate.edu Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Agricultural and Life Sciences welcomes applications for an adjunct faculty position in the chemistry program of the Department of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adjunct faculty typically teach up to 9 contact hours per semester.
  • Teach undergraduate biology courses as assigned.
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Evaluate and grade students' class/lab work, assignments, and papers.
  • Collect and analyze data for program and university assessment.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Develop and use multimedia course materials and other current technology, such as online courses.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous successful work experience with culturally diverse populations a plus.
  • Cope effectively with adversity and demonstrate leadership skills that promote collegiality and cooperation.
  • Ability to use technology in instruction. Experience in curriculum and institutional assessment a plus.
  • Committed to values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Minimum Qualifications
  • Earned master's degree in chemistry or related discipline is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in the undergraduate classroom.
