Job Description

Overview Join Alaska Rage Cheer as a Cheerleading Coach and inspire young athletes to reach new heights! In this dynamic role, you will lead cheerleading teams through skill development, routines, and competitions while fostering teamwork, confidence, and enthusiasm. Your energy and leadership will motivate students to excel both on and off the mat, creating a positive and empowering environment for all participants. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of cheerleaders while honing your coaching expertise. Duties Plan and execute engaging cheerleading practices that develop stunting, tumbling, jumps, motions, dance routines, and team coordination. Teach proper cheerleading techniques, emphasizing safety protocols and injury prevention. Lead teams during performances, competitions, and school events with enthusiasm and professionalism. Create supportive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among participants. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding team progress, schedules, and upcoming events. Monitor participants' physical activity levels to ensure safety during all practices and performances. Maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice spaces in excellent condition to promote a professional atmosphere. Qualifications Proven experience in cheerleading coaching or related sports coaching experience. Strong background in cheerleading skills such as stunting, tumbling, dance, or choreography. Experience working with children or youth in a coaching or teaching capacity. Knowledge of safety procedures related to cheerleading activities and injury prevention. Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct athletes and engage with parents. Ability to demonstrate leadership in team settings while managing behavior effectively. Certifications in First Aid and CPR (including AED operation) are required; additional certifications are a plus.
