Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a Swim Instructor and inspire confidence, safety, and a love for swimming in learners of all ages! In this dynamic role, you will deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons, ensuring each participant develops essential water skills while having fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our community's health and well-being through expert instruction and enthusiastic leadership. Duties Lead group and individual swim lessons tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, safety protocols, and water survival skills with clarity and enthusiasm Monitor participants closely during lessons to ensure safety, providing immediate assistance if needed Incorporate sports-specific training elements such as soccer drills or martial arts-inspired movements to enhance coordination and confidence Manage behavior effectively by engaging students positively and implementing appropriate behavior management strategies Communicate regularly with clients (parents or guardians) about progress, safety concerns, and upcoming programs Maintain a clean, organized pool area, ensuring all equipment is safe and properly stored Experience Prior experience as a lifeguard or in water safety roles is highly preferred Demonstrated swimming proficiency with strong technical skills in various strokes Background in sports coaching such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, or martial arts like karate or judo is advantageous Experience working with children or teaching physical education enhances your ability to connect with learners of all ages Proven team leadership skills in sports teams or coaching environments Certification in First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), and water safety training required or obtainable upon hire Familiarity with behavior management techniques to foster positive learning environments Health club or gym experience is a plus for understanding fitness fundamentals and client engagement Embark on a rewarding journey where your passion for sports, fitness, and teaching converges!
