In this role, you will foster a positive environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical development. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help children develop essential motor skills, confidence, and a lifelong love for fitness and sports. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' health and well-being while honing your coaching skills. Responsibilities Lead dynamic sports sessions tailored to K-8 students, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fun. Plan and execute age-appropriate activities across various sports such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, flag football and track. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including operation of AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and first aid procedures. Manage behavior effectively by implementing positive behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, participation, and safety concerns. Demonstrate strong leadership by motivating students, encouraging teamwork, and fostering a supportive atmosphere. Maintain equipment, facilities, and supplies to ensure a safe and organized setting for all activities. Skills Proven sports coaching experience with children in K-8 settings or similar environments. Strong knowledge of various sports including soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, flag football and general physical education. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Experience working with children in childcare or teaching physical education; ability to manage diverse behaviors confidently. Certifications in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation, and health/safety standards are highly desirable. Ability to lead team activities confidently while ensuring safety at all times. Familiarity with sports-specific training instruction to develop skills progressively. Background in health club or gym environments is a plus; experience working with students in active settings is preferred.
