HEAD STRENGTH COACH
MOVE+breathe | Cumming, Georgia MOVE+breathe is a strength and conditioning gym in Cumming, Georgia focused on helping people move better, get stronger, improve their health, and continue doing the things they love. We offer small group strength training, personal training, yoga, and nutrition and accountability coaching.
Our mission is simple:
To inspire our members to move better, breathe better and live better in their bodies. We believe great coaching goes beyond leading a workout. It means knowing our members, meeting them where they are, helping them progress, and creating an environment where people want to consistently show up. As MOVE+breathe continues to grow, we are looking to add a Head Strength Coach who can lead our coaching team and own the day-to-day coaching experience. The Opportunity This is a full-time leadership position for an experienced coach who loves coaching people but is also ready to lead and develop other coaches. The Head Strength Coach will work directly with MOVE+breathe ownership and the management team and will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of coaching across the organization. This is not a position where you will simply coach classes all day. You will spend part of your week coaching members through Strength Classes, Personal Training, On-Ramp Sessions, Goal Reviews, and New Member Connection Meetings (NMCMs). The rest of your time will be spent leading coaches, managing coaching systems and programming, maintaining standards, maintaining equipment, supporting member retention and gym operations, and owning the day-to-day coaching operation. We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership, develop people, and help build something. What You Will Own Coaching Excellence You will own the quality and consistency of the MOVE+breathe coaching experience.
This includes:
- Coach Small Group Strength and Personal Training sessions.
- Maintain MOVE+breathe coaching standards.
- Recognize movement faults and communicate effective corrections.
- Ensure coaches use appropriate exercise progressions and regressions.
- Ensure coaches understand the intent behind our programming.
- Maintain consistency in the member experience across coaches and sessions.
- Model excellent communication, professionalism, energy, and service.
- Address coaching issues when standards are not being met.
Coach Leadership & Development You will serve as the first level of leadership for our coaching team.
You will:
- Lead coach meetings and education.
- Observe coaches and provide regular feedback.
- Conduct coach evaluations.
- Mentor and develop coaches.
- Own the coaching portion of new-coach onboarding and training.
- Hold coaches accountable to MOVE+breathe standards.
- Manage coach schedules and coverage.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
- Address routine coaching and staff issues without requiring ownership involvement.
Our goal is not simply to employ good coaches. We want to develop great coaches. Member Experience & Retention The Head Strength Coach should know our members, not just our workouts.
You will:
- Build strong relationships with members.
- Conduct Goal Reviews with existing members.
- Conduct New Member Connection Meetings (NMCMs).
- Coach On-Ramp sessions with new members.
- Coach Personal Training sessions.
- Monitor member engagement and attendance.
- Identify members who may need additional support.
- Follow up with members when appropriate.
- Recognize and celebrate member progress.
- Address routine member concerns.
- Ensure new members successfully transition from On-Ramp into group classes and/or personal training.
- Maintain an environment where members feel known, supported, and valued.
Goal Reviews, NMCMs, On-Ramps, and Personal Training are shared responsibilities across the MOVE+breathe team. The Head Strength Coach will participate in these activities as part of the weekly workload while maintaining ownership of the overall coaching experience. Programming & Quality Control MOVE+breathe ownership will continue to establish the overall training philosophy and programming direction. The Head Strength Coach will own the execution and quality control of that programming.
You will:
- Review upcoming programming and make sure it is consistent in the gym and on the app.
- Ensure coaches are prepared to deliver workouts effectively.
- Ensure coaches understand workout intent and scaling options.
- Maintain exercise and movement standards.
- Gather relevant feedback from coaches and members.
