January 18th, pre-season; January 25th, first GHSA official practice About Us Fellowship Christian School is a Christian school committed to developing students in faith, character, and excellence. Our athletic program is an extension of that mission: we compete to win, but we coach to shape young people who reflect Christ on and off the field. The Role The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in leading our varsity soccer program. You'll help build a team culture rooted in integrity, humility, and mutual respect while developing players' skills, tactical understanding, and love of the game. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Head Coach to plan and lead training sessions, drills, and small-sided games Develop individual players technically, tactically, and physically Assist with game-day preparation, in-game coaching, and player feedback Build strong, encouraging relationships with players and mentor them in character and leadership Communicate respectfully with parents, staff, and officials Model sportsmanship, integrity, and faith-informed conduct at all times Help manage equipment, logistics, and player safety Support the school's mission and athletic philosophy Qualifications Strong understanding of soccer tactics, technique, and player development Playing and/or coaching experience (high school, club, or collegiate preferred) Ability to connect with teenagers and build trust Clear communication and a teachable, collaborative spirit Personal faith commitment and agreement with the school's statement of faith Willingness to complete a background check and required child-safety and CPR/First Aid training (or obtain them upon hire) GHSA Certification for Lay Coaches Preferred National D Coaching license Experience in a Christian or school-based athletic setting Who Thrives Here Someone who sees coaching as ministry and mentorship, who holds high standards with grace, and who cares as much about who players become as how they perform.
Details Season:
January 25th-first practice, February 8th-first allowable game. Season extends into mid-April on playoff performance.
Time commitment:
Practices are weekdays after school from 3:30-5:30, Games are typically after the Girl's Varsity Game, therefore 6:00, 6:30, or 7:00 pm, 1-2 games a week.
