We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic VEX Team Coach to lead and inspire our robotics team in competitive STEM activities. As a VEX Team Coach, you will be responsible for guiding students through the design, building, programming, and testing of their robots, fostering teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to empower youth in a hands-on learning environment while promoting innovation and technical excellence. Your leadership will help students develop critical skills in engineering, programming, and collaboration, preparing them for future success in STEM fields. Responsibilities Provide mentorship and coaching to students participating in VEX robotics competitions, encouraging active engagement and skill development Develop and implement instructional plans that cover robot design, construction, programming, and troubleshooting techniques Facilitate team meetings, workshops, and practice sessions to enhance technical proficiency and teamwork Manage the procurement of materials and oversee the maintenance of robotics equipment and tools Foster a positive team environment by promoting communication skills, sportsmanship, and collaborative problem-solving Support students in preparing for competitions by guiding project planning, time management, and presentation skills Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and competition organizers to ensure smooth team operations Qualifications Experience working with children or youth programs, especially in STEM or robotics education Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and engage students of diverse backgrounds Knowledge of instructional materials development related to robotics or STEM subjects Prior coaching or teaching experience in competitive youth programs or extracurricular activities Familiarity with online instruction tools and virtual collaboration platforms is a plus Excellent communication skills to clearly convey technical concepts and foster teamwork Background in teaching foreign languages or adult education is beneficial but not required Demonstrated ability to manage classroom activities efficiently while maintaining a safe learning environment Must pass background check if over the age of 18 years old.
