The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking an Associate Girls Wrestling Coach for the 2026-27 season.

Work Schedule:

2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m) Monday-Friday, with various nights and weekends during the season.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Supports the coaching staff while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of wrestling.

Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group and team level.

Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.

Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.

Participates in special events including banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.

Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.

Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.

Assists with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.

Experience coaching at the youth, middle school, or high school level preferred.

The successful candidate will exhibit: Ability to create a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all athletes, families, and staff.

Punctual and consistent work attendance.

Compensation:

$1,434 season stipend
