The Avery Coonley School is a coeducational Pre-Kindergarten-Grade 8 independent school serving academically bright and gifted students. Located in Downers Grove, approximately 15 miles west of Chicago, Avery Coonley provides a challenging academic environment complemented by a strong commitment to student development through athletics and extracurricular activities. The Avery Coonley School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Girls' Basketball Coach for its interscholastic athletics program.

Early January-early March Meeting Days:
Practices and games are held Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with the possibility of one Wednesday during playoff week. About ACS Athletics The Avery Coonley School is a member of the Suburban Elementary Athletic Conference (SEAC). Our Athletic Department is committed to providing a high-quality experience in which every athlete: Is coached in a positive and nurturing way Has fun at practices and games Feels like an important part of the team, regardless of performance Learns life lessons that have value beyond the playing field Learns the skills, tactics, and strategies of the game and improves as a player We are committed to creating a positive culture in which coaches, parents, fans, officials, and athletes work together to achieve this mission. Position Summary Coaches in The Avery Coonley School Athletic Department work collaboratively with their coaching partners to design and implement engaging, challenging, and fun practices. Our coaching and game-management philosophy centers on the development of each athlete rather than a primary focus on winning . Coaches are expected to create an environment in which athletes can develop their basketball skills, build confidence, learn to work with others, and enjoy the experience of competing. Coaches are also expected to honor the game by demonstrating respect for the rules, officials, opponents, teammates, and spectators and by modeling the sportsmanship and character we want our athletes to develop. Requirements:
