Eastern Greene High School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Varsity Girls' Track & Field Head Coach to lead our student-athletes in developing their individual potential and team success. The successful candidate will provide expert instruction in track and field fundamentals while fostering good sportsmanship, character development, and school spirit. The coach will model appropriate leadership and ensure that athletes demonstrate discipline, teamwork, and pride in themselves and the Thunderbird community. This position includes oversight of the high school and middle school programs and collaboration with youth-level efforts. Qualifications Completion of IHSAA and NFHS coaching certification courses (required) Experience coaching in an education-based athletic program preferred Prior playing and/or coaching experience strongly preferred Certified teacher preferred but not required Knowledge of IHSAA rules, eligibility, and compliance policies Job Goals Build a strong, character-driven girls' track and field program at the high school and feeder levels Provide structured and positive athletic experiences for student-athletes Serve as a mentor and role model both on and off the track Represent Eastern Greene Schools and the Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference with integrity and pride Expectations Assume full leadership of the Girls' Track & Field Program at both the high school and middle school levels Plan and implement daily/weekly practice schedules, off-season workouts, and lifting programs Select and evaluate assistant and middle school coaches in coordination with the Athletic Director Supervise athletes at all practices, meets, and team travel events Ensure compliance with all IHSAA, SWIAC, and district rules Submit all required documentation including rosters, physicals, injury reports, and transportation requests Manage equipment and report inventory and supply needs Coordinate team communication with parents and athletes using district-approved platforms Organize team events such as senior night and end-of-season recognition Drive a district minibus when necessary (certification required) Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director Additional Information If you would rather apply locally, you may drop off your resume and documentation at: Eastern Greene High School 1471 N.
