Job Description
Position Summary:
Pioneer Charter School of Science (PCSS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Varsity Cheer Coach to lead our student-athletes for the upcoming season. This individual will be responsible for organizing and conducting practices, fostering a positive team culture, and preparing athletes for competitive play. The ideal candidate will serve as a mentor, teaching both the skills of the game and the values of sportsmanship and respect.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead well-structured, engaging practices
- Evaluate team and individual performance to inform coaching strategies
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment
- Develop and implement game strategies that position the team for success
- Promote respect for the sport, teammates, and opponents
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and games
- Communicate clearly and regularly with players, parents, and school staff
- Collaborate effectively with the Athletic Director and other coaches

- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to create a safe, motivating, and respectful team culture
- Commitment to student growth both on and off the court Preferred Experience
- Prior coaching and/or competitive cheer experience
- Experience working with high school-aged students or youth in an athletic setting Special Requirements
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain prior to the season's start)
