  • $20 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications CPR Certification Lifeguard Training Employee relationship building First Aid Certification Lifeguard Certification Full Job Description The Assistant Swim Coach, under the supervision of the Coach-Swim Team, has the prime responsibility of executing all coaching duties for the South Shore YMCA Strypers swim team at YMCA branches and/or additional practice locations.

CORE EXPECTATIONS
PROGRAM
EXECUTION
Execute an integrated swimming program that meets the needs of swimmers of all ages and abilities. Attend all scheduled practices. Attendance and coaching responsibilities at regular swim meets. Address and resolve swimmer/parent issues with the Directors of Competitive Swimming at all times.
STAFF ENGAGEMENT AND TEAMWORK
Work with fellow YMCA staff members and treat them with respect. Communicate with the Directors of Competitive Swimming in a professional and timely manner. Perform other duties needed as delegated by Directors of Competitive Swimming. Attend staff meetings and complete skill trainings.
MEMBER ENGAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
Interact with members in a friendly, engaging, and professional manner. Be familiar with all information and answer questions about programs, schedules, and policies or direct people to Directors of Competitive Swimming and/or Aquatic Directors. Ensure that the South Shore YMCA Child Protection Policies are fulfilled.
FACILITY MANAGEMENT
Maintain a clean and organized pool environment. Record and report any faulty equipment and/or lapse in maintenance to the aquatic supervisors on duty. Ensure all swim team equipment is neatly stored and/or maintained before, during and after practices.
VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT
Support volunteers and their daily functions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Current Certifications:
Current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR Certification Redwoods Child Abuse Prevention USA Swimming Level I and Level II certifications Principles of YMCA Swimming and Diving (within first year of employment) Certifications/experience in swim-specific strength and conditioning beneficial.
