Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Interim Cheerleading Coach to lead our cheerleading squad for the remainder of the fall season. Responsibilities Plan, choreograph, and teach cheerleading routines tailored to the team's skill levels and performance goals Lead practices focusing on technique, coordination, teamwork, and safety protocols Foster a positive team environment by encouraging sportsmanship, confidence, and leadership among students Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards, including proper use of equipment and emergency procedures Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding team updates, schedules, and student development Maintain organized records of attendance, progress reports, and safety incidents Requirements Proven experience in cheerleading coaching or related sports coaching experience Strong background in cheerleading routines, choreography, or dance training Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction and behavior management techniques Ability to lead team activities with enthusiasm while maintaining discipline and safety Excellent communication skills for effective client (student/parent) interaction Certifications in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), or willingness to obtain prior to start date Background in sports such as soccer, basketball, climbing, martial arts (karate or judo), or gymnastics is a plus Familiarity with child development principles and physical education teaching methods Ability to motivate students of diverse ages and skill levels while fostering a fun learning environment NFHS Concussion Course completion MIAA Coached Education Compliant Lead safeguards for student-athletes' presence at games, practices, and while traveling on buses. Inform school nurse or AD on injuries by completing an Accident Report. Remain on-site until all student-athletes have departed after games. Responsible for distribution and collection of all uniforms at the start and end of each season Inventory equipment and return it all in good condition after the season.
