Many MLB prospects and college scholarship athletes have trained at D-BAT facilities, reflecting the center's strong developmental focus. D-BAT offers developmental youth camps, private lessons, and access to the latest equipment and apparel. Role Description The Baseball and Softball Instructor will provide hands-on, technical instruction to players of varying ages and skill levels in an on-site setting at
D-BAT ALX
West End in Alexandria, VA. This role involves leading individual and group lessons, teaching fundamental and advanced skills in hitting, fielding, pitching, and game awareness for both baseball and softball. The instructor will design and implement lesson plans and training drills, monitor player progress, and offer constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a safe and inclusive training environment, communicating effectively with players and families, and assisting with camps, clinics, and special programs. The role also involves representing D-BAT's values, providing excellent customer service, and supporting facility operations as needed. This role is an independant contractor role. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Instruction and Coaching skills, with the ability to teach individuals and groups effectively. Candidates should possess solid Baseball and Softball knowledge, including fundamental and advanced techniques and game strategy. Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts and give feedback to players and families. Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, demonstrating a positive attitude and respect toward athletes, parents, and colleagues. Playing or coaching experience in organized baseball or softball programs (youth, high school, collegiate, or professional) is highly beneficial. Ability to work on-site, including evenings and weekends as needed, and to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive training environment. Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with other instructors and staff.
