Summary Beagle Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Middle School Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching the fundamentals of basketball, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position requires commitment to the development of players both on and off the court, ensuring a rewarding experience for all participants. Responsibilities Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all players. Coach the team during games, providing strategic guidance and support to players. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and cooperation among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and progress. Monitor players' academic performance and encourage a balance between athletics and academics. Assist in the recruitment and management of team volunteers, including assistant coaches and scorekeepers. Attend all scheduled games, practices, and team meetings throughout the season. Ensure compliance with all school and league policies, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements. Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development. Requirements Previous experience coaching basketball at the middle school level or higher is preferred. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff in a collaborative environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season). Must pass a background check as required by school district policies. Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and meetings. A passion for youth sports and a commitment to the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.
